Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Payroll
- End to end payroll processing for approx 160 employees (weekly/fortnightly)
- Maintain employee records in line with legislative & organisational requirements
- Process new starters, terminations and employment changes
- Reconcile PAYG, superannuation. payroll tax, STP reporting & year-end processes
- Ensure accuracy of leave balances and entitlement
- Limited ad-hoc office administration support including accounts payable, bank reconciliations and budgeting
HR Compliance
- Ensure compliance with Fair Work Act, relevant awards, NES and workplace legislation
- Manage HR documents including contracts, policies and onboarding material
- Support audits, including workcover, payroll tax (grouping), and internal compliance reviews
- Assist in policy reviews, updates and implementation across the organisations
- Provide HR advice/support to managers and employees on policies and procedures
- Support employee life cycle processes including on-boarding and off-boarding
- Support employee career development
Required Skills
The successful applicant will need to demonstrate:
- Experience in payroll processing and HR administration
- Minimum 3-5 years of payroll processing experience is required
- Strong understanding of Fair Work legislation, awards and employee entitlements
- Practical application knowledge of Fair Work legislation is required
- Strong attention to detail and strong numerical accuracy
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Demonstrate proficient payroll knowledge in Xero (highly favourable) or similar and Microsoft software
- Highly organisational and excellent time management/ analytical skills
- Ability to multi-task and complete tasks with minimal supervision
