Responsibilities
What you’ll own:
• Lead accounting and tax engagements from initial planning through to successful completion.
• Prepare financial statements and income tax returns for individuals, sole traders, partnerships, trusts and companies.
• Have direct client contact and hold trusted relationships
• Managing a small team of accountants that will be supporting you and ensuring they grow and develop in their careers.
• Translate tax matters into clear, practical strategies for clients.
• Contribute to business planning and advisory engagements, including cash-flow forecasting and forward-looking commercial insights.
• Manage a diverse client portfolio
• Lead client conversations and provide commercially focused advice to local businesses.
• Represent clients confidently in dealings with the Australian Taxation Office and other external stakeholders.
Required Skills
What will set you apart:
• At least three years’ experience in business services and taxation within public practice.
• A relevant university degree in accounting, business or a related discipline.
• Strong technical capability across tax, accounting and business advisory matters.
• A proactive mindset, sharp attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities with confidence.
• Clear, engaging written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong Microsoft Office capability, particularly Excel.
• Experience with Xero, Xero Practice Manager or comparable accounting software will be highly regarded.
